Most Popular Kaputaş Beach
Turkey's most photographed beach — a narrow strip of golden sand at the bottom of a dramatic gorge. Crystal-clear turquoise water. No facilities on the beach itself, but a small café at the top of the stairs. Gets crowded in July–August — arrive early.
Patara Beach
An 18-kilometre stretch of untouched sand backed by dunes and ancient Lycian ruins. One of the longest beaches in Turkey. Protected as a turtle nesting site, so it closes at sunset. Sunbed rental available. Less crowded than Kaputaş even in peak season.
Büyük Çakıl (Big Pebble Beach)
The closest beach to the town centre. A pebble beach with sun loungers, a beach bar, and a beautiful view of the Greek island Meis. Great for a quick swim after lunch. Water shoes recommended.
Küçük Çakıl (Small Pebble Beach)
A smaller, slightly quieter alternative to Büyük Çakıl. Also pebble, with loungers and a café. Lovely water and a relaxed atmosphere. Good for families.
Akçagerme Beach
A long, less-known beach between Kaş and Kalkan. A mix of sand and pebble with a couple of simple beach restaurants. Much quieter than Kaputaş. A good choice for a full day out.
Limanağzı Beach
Accessible by water taxi from Kaş harbour or by car (rough road). Very clear water, a simple restaurant, and ancient Lycian rock tombs visible from the shore. Feels remote despite being close to town.
Çukurbağ Peninsula Coves
Small swimming platforms and rocky coves along the Çukurbağ peninsula road. No sand, but incredibly clear water and zero crowds. Bring your own towel and a picnic. Some of the best snorkeling in the area.

- Water shoes — essential for pebble beaches in Kaş town.
- Arrive early at Kaputaş — parking fills up by 10 AM in high season. The 187 steps down are worth it.
- Dolmuş (minibus) — runs regularly between Kaş and Kaputaş in summer. Ask at the bus station for times.
- Snorkeling gear — bring your own or rent in town. The coves on Çukurbağ peninsula have the clearest water.
- Patara closes at sunset — it's a turtle nesting site. Plan accordingly.
- Sunscreen — the Mediterranean sun is strong. Reapply after swimming.
